4.5 An example of LOD: The Online Lexicon Linguae Aethiopicae as RDF

4.5.4 The Online Lexicon and the modelling of bibiographic information

More specific bibliographic information can be extracted in the Bibliographic Ontology (BIBO) format directly from Zotero for the printed frbr:Manifestation and stored to enhance a record.. BIBO is is an RDF ontology for the semantic Web to describe bibliographic things like books or magazines

In the same way as the Lexicon Linguae Aethiopicae or Leslau's Comparative Dictionary are Lexicographic Resources, so is the separate work put into the Online Lexicon Linguae Aethiopicae by the TraCES team.

dillmann:traces a frbr:Work ;
           frbr:realization dillmann:tracescontent .

dillmann:tracescontent a frbr:Expression ;
dcterms:title "<TraCES/> From Translation to Creation: Changes in Ethiopic Style
 		and Lexicon from Late Antiquity to the Middle Ages";
frbr:embodiment  dillmann:traceshtml .

dillmann:traceshtml a frbr:Manifestation;
bibo:uri "https://betamasaheft.eu/Dillmann/";
dcterms:format "type:text/html" .

This lexicographic resource is embodied by the same frbr:Manifestation, more specifically, the Online Lexicon Linguae Aethiopicae.

The TraCES team, however, entered data in the Online Lexicon Linguae Aethiopicae based on other lexicographic eesources, for example the list of proper names in Bezold's edition of the 'Kebra Negast' or the 'Vocabolario etiopico-italiano-latino ad uso dei principianti' written by Gabriele Da Maggiora, used in the example (Bezold 1905). This bibliographical information has been documented with great detail, connected to the EthioStudies Zotero library. Therefore, it becomes possible to extract from the TEI-XML an abstraction of these lexicographical resources, limited to their actual usage (because some of the sources cited are not lexica, however, they can be considered lexicographic resources in this context since they are used in such manner).

bm:Bezold1905KebraN a lexicog:LexicographicResource ;
 	lexicog:entry dillmann:Lcd4bf7428dec427e92f397fc15b133dc_entry .
dillmann:Lcd4bf7428dec427e92f397fc15b133dc_entry
a lexicog:Entry ;
            rdf:member   dillmann:Lcd4bf7428dec427e92f397fc15b133dc_comp .

Or, to keep with our example:

bm:daMag1953 a  lexicog:LexicographicResource ;
             lexicog:entry  dillmann:Lab84275dc11347ce818680a6949d3db1_entry .
dillmann:Lab84275dc11347ce818680a6949d3db1_entry
a lexicog:Entry ;
           rdf:member dillmann:Lab84275dc11347ce818680a6949d3db1_comp .

The full RDF graph of dillmann:Lab84275dc11347ce818680a6949d3db1 will look like this, abbreviating the identifier to "db1", where, as in the TraCES data, eventually two lexicographical resources actually refer to the same lexicographic entry:

dillmann:lexicon  rdf:_57  dillmann:db1 ;
                            lime:entry  dillmann:db1 .

        lexicog:entry  dillmann:db1_entry .
