Performance art has developed the habit of performing in unconventional places outside the usual venues, such as theatres. The performers choose museums and art galleries, but also spaces of social life such as the street, universities or industrial wastelands.

The idea is, on the one hand, to decompartmentalise artistic disciplines and affirm the hybridity of the work being produced and, on the other hand, to access the public more directly and widely.
