Although there are multiple traces of the performance of a work of this type (photos, press articles, etc.) and it is easily possible, especially today in the age of the digital revolution, to reproduce them and to obtain an audiovisual version for example, the common experience of the realisation of the work accomplished by the artists and appreciated by an audience in the same space only ever occurs once and can never be reproduced identically. A theatre actor will never perform the same scene in the same way twice because he will never have the same audience in front of him.

And even if this were the case (some spectators do indeed go to see the same show several times), they will not react in the same way each time, as the effects of surprise, humour or offence have already had their effect, while others, not perceived the first time, may impact the spectator during a subsequent performative experience.
