Teaching and Learning Methods

This course consists of various learning modalities that will introduce you to theories and practices of netnographic research and netnographic research methods. The course contains text, videos, interactive elements (quizzes, dialogue cards, scenarios), and several directions for further reading to guide you through the topics of the course. In each unit, these different learning modalities are combined to gradually further your learning of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

This is a self-paced course designed to be delivered asynchronously. Case studies and a four-part learning scenario connect theoretical concepts, practical skills and empirical examples from cultural heritage platforms and previous research. No additional software is needed to take this course.

Each unit may be taken separately, but the course is designed to be taken as a whole. The learning scenario New Stories for Europe can be altered if the course is to be used as a methods course that needs to be adapted to a given educational context, such as a master’s program. In that case, suitable empirical material connected to the specifics of that educational context may be used instead.
